We've installed the new 60,000rpm end mill spindle with all the bells and whistles. The liquid cooling system works wonders, as it only allows about a 2°C difference between free-running and full load. That's 'cool' 🙂 The machined edges on both carbon and glass fibre boards are perfect, they barely need a 1500 grit polish now. All other end mill jobs, like POM plastics and aluminium go to our second CNC for lower rpm work, this beauty is strictly reserved for composites from now on. It all came just in time to finish a nice rugged wireless CCTV prototype job for a client, but it will also cut the parts for a new autopilot GCS box in a few days.
