This has been in the works for some time now, but it's finally there. Using our good old wearable tray controller framework we've put together a single PC tablet based ground control station. I was a bit nervous about the results in the beginning, especially because of the critical sunlight readability issues of nearly all professional tablets in this format, but this one worked out pretty well in the end.
Since the screen here is horizontal, there's no point in putting a hood around it to help visibility. Our video downlink screen has no such issues in the same position, but only because it is transflective. However, this very tablet has some clever tricks up its sleeve with high nit and extreme contrast that even works under direct sunlight.
